I don't know enough to have an opinion. I guess there might be a temptation to make a gross generalization, but I'll abstain.

Unless you take the time to go and do your own research on them, I would think your answer is ambivalent.

By "ambivalence," do you mean "indifference?"

I am indifferent about Bob Jones U. I am not ambivalent. Could you add an "indifferent" option?

I meant it as unsure, but perhaps indifferent would have been a better word.

If you meant unsure, then I would stick with ambivalent (the lack of surety generally resulting from conflicting and opposed sentiments).

In my case, I am indifferent, as I don't have any feelings one way or the other about Bob Jones U.

What I meant was, "I don't give a shit". Is that ambivilent or indifferent?

That actually sounds a little aggressive to me.

I guess it all depends on the person speakings point of reference. A statement like that for me is like a, "I don't care." Too make it aggressive for me, I would add some strong adjectives also.

Agreed. It sounds more like feigned indifference, as opposed to actual indifference. In fact, it sounds like passion, not indifference.

If BYU71 had said, "yawn" or "who cares?" then I would believe his indifference.

BYU71, why are you so emotional about Bob Jones U?

The discussion on 58% of LDS girls having sex got me thinking.

Do we really respect institutions because of their "rules". I would think our culture would have a lot of respect for Bob Jones University because of their "rules", but actually knew we wouldn't. We mainly have respect for our rules at our institution (BYU) even though another institution has the same rules.

Now, why do you get so hung up over the difference between the word indifferent and ambivilent. I have never thought of you as being that "anal", so there must be something else that triggers such emotion from you.

I have mixed feelings. I'm sure some of the kids at Bob J U are bright, responsible contributors to society.

Nevertheless, I have also noticed a tendency for dogmatic certainty and an inability to effectively communicate with those with whom they disagree.

This tendency reminds me of recently returned RMs.
We all trust our own unorthodoxies.

sorry for the tangent. I am still indifferent about Bob Jones U, but in light of your clarification, I will say that I am not a fan of overly strict behavioral codes at universities. If a non-lds BYU student wants to drink a cup of coffee before class, I don't think it should matter one bit.
