  • Third Political Parties

I often hear we need a third party and there is no diffrence between republicans and democrats. However a Third party will take away votes from someone closer to you. Someone running that loses in a primary now what are they thinking as they won't take votes away from other party but may give them the seat.

In the United States it is designed for two major parties. We never had a third party that won a national election. Republicans were outgrowth of whigs and know nothings and were not a third party. Got a president who won a majority of electoral votes 6 years later.

Third parties will never work in this country. ON rare occasions they win state elections but they actually hurt candidate that you want to win anyway and are a dismal failure.

It's still too far away, but there will come a day when a third party candidate emerges and wins a major election. Probably not the Presidency, but a Senate seat, or governor, perhaps.

It's definitely necessary, too. Both parties are interested only in attaining power and holding onto it. They don't care what gets done, only that their side wins and the other side loses.
