    SoonerCoug's Guantanamo Plan

    I hope Obama is listening.

    I'm all for closing down Guantanamo and setting all those Al-Qaeda folks free. But before Obama sets them free, all the prisnoers need to be anesthetized and have tracking microchips implanted in their butts. Maybe one of them will lead us to Bin Laden.

      Your joke aside, I find it odd that both Gates and Rice asked for it to be closed - essentially in week 1 of Gates coming on board, but the idea was rejected. If the SecDef publicly says he doesn't think it has any value, why continue on with the charade it does? To appease Rush and co?

It was a BBC Drama on Masterpiece that dealt with all the Big Brother issues they have over there in the Nanny state and how big brother is getting smarter. Quite interesting, but quite far-fetched.                           That was a good show. We enjoyed it. I think the main actor's name (Benedict Cumberpatch, and yes, that is true) is a little hard ot swallow, but otherwise a good show.

                              I actually think he will close Gitmo as a prison for terrorists. Of course we're not giving it back to Cuba. I don't expect him to set them free, however. My prediction is that he will turn them over to federal authoirites to be tried in the federal courts on whatever charges they might be able to make out.
