Asia Selloff on Iran?

Asia should be down given the schmeissing we had on Friday here...however, apparently Iran is telling the world it has major earthshattering news to disclose on Feb 11 and my bloomberg is lighting up with people presuming they'll announce they have the bomb.

Ugh. This is going to be a nasty year again.

Apparently Iran is also claiming they cured AIDS. You can't make this shit up. Sort of diminishes the "we have the bomb" announcement legitimacy.

Well, given that Iran says there are no homosexuals in Iran, that eliminates that segment of society that can spread AIDS. I'm guessing that they don't have any drug users who share needles, so there's another way to spread the disease that's been eliminated. And of course, casual sexual encounters simply don't happen there either. Once again, another way that the disease is spread simply doesn't exist. All these factors minimize the chance that someone would get a transfusion with tainted blood, so the chances of contracting AIDS is virtually nil.

So, if anyone in Iran has AIDS, it was probably easier to just let them die so there is no chance to pass it to another and therefore, they've cured AIDS there.

good internals. 90% upside day yesterday and good buy volume today. that said, i think the character of the mkt has changed from buy the dips that worked in 2009
