I'm kidding.

Nothing in particular, only that she clearly has no knowledge, curiosity, or skills that would give anyone a reason to vote for her other than her hard-line religious and political opinions. So, as I alluded to, my hatred was more directed at the anti-intellectualism and partisanship that she represented. On a personal level I find her repugnant, but no more so than millions who share her views. It's mostly just a shame that McCain picked her over just about any other option.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostWhy? Right. It's an antipathy toward the phenomenon and what it says about conservative politics in this country.Originally posted by woot View PostNothing in particular, only that she clearly has no knowledge, curiosity, or skills that would give anyone a reason to vote for her other than her hard-line religious and political opinions. The odd thing is that Obama is the exact. same. thing. Just on the other side of the political spectrum. He is ideology embodied; he brought little by the way of experience and skill to the table, and the left-wingers lapped it up just as the right-wingers lapped up Palin's ideology.Originally posted by woot View PostNothing in particular, only that she clearly has no knowledge, curiosity, or skills that would give anyone a reason to vote for her other than her hard-line religious and political opinions. I'm not a fan of either of them, and don't understand why anyone would hate one and love the other.

I would agree, except for the fact that Obama is a very intelligent man and doesn't appear to make crazy statements. Well, not that crazy.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostThe odd thing is that Obama is the exact. same. thing. Just on the other side of the political spectrum. I assumed this would be the response, just like the earlier shot at MSNBC, as if that makes Fox ok. Obama has a host of problems, but being unintelligent and incurious aren't among them. I'm not a fan of his, but he is not similar to Palin, sorry.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostThe odd thing is that Obama is the exact. same. thing. Woot, please don't be offended when I say this because I really learn from some of the stuff you post.Originally posted by woot View PostI assumed this would be the response, just like the earlier shot at MSNBC, as if that makes Fox ok. However, intellectual curiosity is way over rated.

How are we judging intelligence? Sound bytes? Funny clips of people misspeaking? I've established that Obama has his share of gaffes over the last 18 months.Originally posted by falafel View PostI would agree, except for the fact that Obama is a very intelligent man and doesn't appear to make crazy statements. I'm not excusing Palin. I'm just bringing Obama into the discussion to point out some possible inconsistencies.I assumed this would be the response, just like the earlier shot at MSNBC, as if that makes Fox ok. I ask you the same thing I asked falafel... how are you determining how intelligent and curious these two people are?

This is very good explanation. I'm mostly conservative (economics and foreign policy), but I can't stand her for the some of the reasons you indicated. I also don't like her because so many people WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER think that she's capable to be president. That's not her fault though, but it reveals a disturbing and growing trend in the GOP to distance themselves academia and a segment of society that is supremely accomplished.Originally posted by woot View PostNothing in particular, only that she clearly has no knowledge, curiosity, or skills that would give anyone a reason to vote for her other than her hard-line religious and political opinions. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
