Palin's competence as a politician is largely irrelevant as she will never be an elected official again. More money in books and TV and too much baggage to ever win an election now, esp after she basically quit her job as Governor.
You need a lot of baggage to carry $150K worth of clothes.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Sarah Palin is a Republican Paris Hilton.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

        Keep it up funny boy.

I find plenty to oppose in our good president's approach to governing. His latest "The buck stops here" on the Christmas Day terror attempt is ridiculous. And his repeated "look at me, I'm really upset about all this, can't you tell?" press statements are getting to be real eye-rollers. But he certainly is not a vacuous individual. He reads, he's inquisitive, he probably actually knew the difference between John Wooden Legs and John Wooden's legs.

I have come to absolutely abhor Palin. She talks and conservative folksy vomit comes out. I sincerely wonder if she has ever read a book from cover to cover. Does no one else see the lack of depth when it comes to things that really matter in choosing a national leader? Couric asks what she reads and she can't even answer. Why? Most likely because she doesn't read anything. She is full on vacuous. There is nothing there people. Nothing. Assuming she proofread her ghost-written book, her response to that quote should have been, "well now, that's an awfully odd thing for John Wooden to say," and then gone and tracked it down. But my mistake is to assume that she reads anything.

I blame SU for this whole mess.

Have a nice evening and don't forget to read your scriptures.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

          From CNN today:
(CNN) – Former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt is revealing new details on just how uneasy campaign aides felt about then-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's prospects heading into her debate with rival Joe Biden.

In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper set to air on 60 Minutes Sunday on CBS, Schmidt said Palin's debate preparations were going so poorly that campaign aides feared the closely-watched debate could prove to be a "debacle of historic and epic proportions."

The interview is part of a preview of the upcoming book "Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime," by political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

What was most troubling, according to Schmidt, was the fact Palin repeatedly confounded Biden's name during the preparation process, referring to the then-Delaware senator as Sen. O'Biden. Aides were so worried that such a mishap in the actual debate would prove catastrophic that they advised her to simply refer to her opponent as "Joe."

"It was multiple people – and I wasn't one of them – who all said at the same time, 'Just say, Can I call you Joe,' which she did," Schmidt tells Cooper.

Suffering through the last year of Bush and the first year of Obama has been a nightmare. I'll listen to anyone at this point.
