"The unofficial timetable calls for final passage of the measure to remake the nation's health care system by the time President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address, probably in early February."

Why doesn't this surprise me? They bought off senators for key votes. the raping of America. Courtesy of the Dems and Obama.

"That could, in turn, require Democrats to vote on political controversies such as wiping out the legislation's proposed cuts in Medicare, the type of issue that could easily be turned into attack ads in next fall's campaign." Why would anyone be upset about cuting Medicare? Do seniors know this or has the AARP told them what to think?

    What a screw job.

You might want to consider how calling the President "boy" might not help your argument.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

If the healthcare bill is really that bad, then it sounds like bad timing on the part of the Democrats. You would think they would want to pass a flawed bill after the state of the union address.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

It isn't awful, but it isn't very good. I think the best thing that could be said for it is that it doesn't do much and will delay adoption of some of the really bad ideas that are out there.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
