  • Merry Christmas!

It's a half day in the US markets and Brazil is closed (other than FX) so I'm at home on W60th in NYC, the capital of Christmas, sitting with my dog and 8 year old, getting ready to go do some final shopping in the greatest city in the world.

Merry Christmas to all from the Vikings!

Bah, no gardening center or lumber yard though at that Home Depot. It's pretty cool otherwise. Though the layout inside makes zero sense.

I'm shocked. I would think their would be a huge market for riding lawn mowers in Manhattan. I would like to see it next time I'm back there. What about the layout makes no sense?

I had to get some 2x4s cut...normally, i ask the HD guys to do it. In manhattan, they can't due to a city ordinance/union issue. So, I bot a circular saw and cut wood in our third bedroom in the middle of the city. The only time i've ever worked with wood (except in the morning)

Like most stores in NYC you take escalators down. This wasn't an issue. But the flow of the stocked goods from aisle to aisle is what didn't make sense. You come to expect certain things (at least I do) like hardwarde, paint, plumbing, electrical, etc following one another like every other store does but they were all over the place. Maybe it's been reorganized since but I couldn't find anything without asking someone in an orange apron where anything was.

But otherwise it's kind of cool going into Home Depot in Manhattan.
