He never had any reason to display his weapon. Also, common sense is to keep driving when you are hit by a snowball and not worry about it. Also, throwing anything at a moving vehicle is a serious crime so if the grown up who should have known better than to do that got arrested, he is not deserving of any sympathy.

I thought it was interesting how the young patrol officer acted. He basically says "look there is nothing I can do, if you have a complaint come down to the station and make it." You can sort of tell (I think) that he thinks the whole things is ridiculous but has no choice but to back up the officer on the scene.

In HS I was waiting for a bus with some other kids. A sheriff was on patrol hanging out in a parking lot behind the bus stop as this was a place that often hosted fights, drug deals, and other sketchy activity. The bus arrived and one of the kids there flipped off the cop and yelled 'FU pig' as he boarded the bus. The cop pulled the bus over and arrested the kid. I thought it was pretty funny.
