    Holocaust Love Story Hoax

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/12/30/hol...ory/index.html

Its got a very Paul Dunn feel to it:

"Why did I do that and write the story with the girl and the apple, because I wanted to bring happiness to people, to remind them not to hate, but to love and tolerate all people. I brought good feelings to a lot of people, and I brought hope to many. My motivation was to make good in this world," he said in the statement.

It turns out these types of fabrications are commonplace. But absolutely none of these fictional memoirs ring true to me. I guess poeple want to believe, especially if there's money to be made. Here's my favorite:

"'Misha: A Mémoire of the Holocaust Years,' about her childhood spent running from the Nazis and living with wolves." Yeah right.

I just went and read a blurb on this book. In addition to living a feral existence amongst the lycanthrope, Misha also stabbed to death a Nazi rapist with a pocket knife.

I don't get it. Serious authors struggle for years just to get an editor to give even one LOOK at their work. This woman fabricates a story about a fugitive Jew living with wolves and running from Nazi tormentors....and it gets published. WHat the hell is wrong with these publishing houses?

        From the Times story,
And once again a New York publisher and Oprah Winfrey were among those fooled by a too-good-to-be-true story.
It seems O is often caught up in populist feel-good stories and movements, which look good, but have little or no substance.

Don't get me started on Oprah. Her book club is horse shit. She is ruining the canon.

As we have done with each of her siblings, our youngest - who is now 6 - is a member of the Dr. Seuss book club. This book club provides reading material that is far superior in every way than anything that one can get from Oprah.

And it's always good when Oprah looks foolish. I seem to remember her getting suckered by another a few years ago, though I can't remember any details other than the book the guy wrote turned out to be nothing but lies.

The other book she was recently "suckered" by was A Million Little Pieces by James Frey.

Ok, thanks for the info. What was that book about anyway? I just remember hearing about her indignation when she found out the guy pretty much made up the story.

                Too funny.

I know right. I hate Oprah. Her show is just ok and she just totally sucks. A new thread is born.

I don't hate her. I just it's funny that she sets herself up to look like a fool so easily.

                    I apologize if you're a fan.

You guys hate her because she is fat, black, and more successful than all of you put together.
