  • Mark Steyn on Limbaugh

But, if you commend the murderer of those 70 million as a role model in almost any schoolroom in the country from kindergarten to the Ivy League, it's so entirely routine that only a crazy like Glenn Beck would be boorish enough to point it out.

Which is odd, don't you think? Because it suggests that our present age of politically correct hypersensitivity is not just morally unserious but profoundly decadent.
It's a good one. Being on the left side of the political spectrum means you get a "get out of jail free" pass on anything you might say. It's hypocrisy.

In what way? Don't the talking heads and the purveyors of truth such as yourself always point these things out? How does that constitute a free pass?

I am sick to death of this damn argument. If someone says something stupid there are literally millions of people calling them on it. And a huge portion of what they talk about is how "no one else is talking about it." Aren't you talking about it Glenn Beck-Rush Limbaugh-Olbermann-Lawrence O'Donnell?

And what is this about Political Correctness? The world has moved on from that. Who cares political correctness anymore? Like the 'mainstream media,' PC is just one more conservative bogeyman used to rile up the conservative base.

So, illegal immigrants (terms used for decades) should be really be undocumented aliens (terms used by the media and apparently aliens who simply lost their documents )?

Not really a conservative bogeyman. That, for one, is the PC term that the left wingers came up with.

Has anyone lost their job or been publicly excoriated for using the word 'illegal alien?' Nope. There are better terms that are both more accurate and more respectful of these people's human dignity, and I will personally point those words out, but my doing that is an attempt to improve public discourse. It certainly isn't a requirement.

Huh, I forgot to add the link. Here it is.

Now tell me, where did you first hear about Dunn's comments? What media outlets have picked up on it since?

Is there any doubt that if Tony Snow had done something similar four years ago that every media outlet in the country would have jumped on it?

Can you give us an example of when a liberal has pointed out something idiotic or divisive that Obama or one of his staffers have said?

Beck would call out Bush all the time, but then, Bush was no conservative.

The left is critical of Obama and his policies at times. Here is one example:

                http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwa.../08/criticism/

but of course the far left is critical the most often because he does not give them what they want. Just as the far right is critical when they do not get what they want.

YOu may also recollect that there was next to no criticism of Bush from the right until after the 2006 elections when it was open season on himfrom the left, as it always was, and from the right because he offered no further electoral possibilities.

I appreciate you pointing that out for me.

Now, what about all of the (unconstitutional) czars? The left has been absolutely silent, unless you can link a criticism of them.

The "czar" idea is not new. Presidents have had independent advisors on specific topics for years now. Why should the left create an uproar about something the right didn't create an uproar about when they were in power? Or are you saying that it just became wrong when the left took power? Please explain your double standard.

I'm not saying that Obama is the only one that is wrong. Others have appointed them and it was just as unconstitutional. No double standard here, as Obama is now the President.

The reason I point out Obama's czars is that they are the most extreme left-wing types and there has been absolutely no vetting process on Obama's part.

Limbaugh just got called out on a bunch of stuff he simply didn't ever say. And this Dunn person tells a bunch of school kids in a public speech that one of her political heros was a lunatic dictator who was pretty directly responsible for the deaths of ~70 million people, and she's the SANE one? Mao killed many times more people than Hitler, for just about as good a reason (ie no reason at all). How long do you think Rush or Hannity or Beck would last on the air if they came out and said that Hitler is one of their two biggest heros? And if anything Dunn should be held to a HIGHER standard - she holds an office in the public trust...

So just who is calling Dunn out on her idiocy? Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and ??? BTW - none of these guys are in the NEWS media. They're all opinion people. Because the news media aren't doing their job...

Oh I think there was vetting. He put EXACTLY the people in who he wanted there. He's a radical. He appointed radicals. There was no mistake. Only lies about who Barry really is. Which the media have been in on (ie ignoring) since day-1 in the 2008 campaign.

It must really make you sad that the US does so much business with China. We eat the sausage and ignore the details about how the sausage was made. In a way, our nation has been legitimizing Mao's choices for decades.
