    Rio 2016

    I was a little choked up when I saw the announcement that Rio won.

    I was rooting for Rio when I heard they were in the running. I tooo was very excited to hear they won. I'm trying to convince my wife to take the family. By 2016 I should have enough saved up to get us there.

    Is it still going to be the "summer" olympics?

      Yes. They'll probably plan it for June? Either way, Rio is reasonably warm in July (~70-80).

        It's crazy to think that in 2014 Brazil will be hosting the World Cup and then in 2016 they'll get the Olympics.

                I re-read this thread hoping it included an open invite to host CSers.

                  Iam going to Rio 2016. Any ideas on where I should go besides Rio? 10 days. Was thinking Manaus

                        Keep in mind the vastness of the country you'll be visiting. Also, it's pretty dicey politically down there right now. Things could get interesting. I'd definitely get trip insurance with an Acts of God/War rider.
