I just told ldc that I am going to go for a run at midnight so that I get off to a good early start!

Just to clarify, we can only count miles once it is 9/8 in OUR time zone, correct?

yes. we don't want any unnecessary miles going to the benefit of charity. please, everyone, make sure we do not count a single extra mile in the name of helping others!

You know what else is silly? Thinking that the donations are going to be limited by mileage.

              That is correct. No cheating.

This is a pity, as the missus and I just got back from a nice 52 miler. But we knew this heading out and wanted a warm-up for the ultramiles we intend to rack up in the days ahead.

Are you competing under the delusion this contest is about charity? As if someone is going to say, "I would have loved to donate money to charity, but DDD didn't run very many miles, so the orphans are just going to have to do without!" No sir, charity is an interesting layer of nuance added to what will otherwise be a bloody fisted slug-out. That you think this is about charity suggests to me that toppling your team is going to be easier than I had thought. As if 'charity' is going to inspire a winning effort! No! Humiliating the foe is what this is about, and humiliating and fear of humiliation is what will ultimately determine the outcome of this 'friendly' contest. You are going DOWN!

I'm so excited about this challenge. I won't contribute much to the team totals, but I'm happy to be inspired to run every day. I bought new running shoes last week and went for my first run in them last night (still 9/7 then -- bummer). It was more like a short jog. Tonight hopefully I can jog a little longer. And tomorrow more, etc.

Alright, people. I've kicked it off with the first run of the challenge... or at least the first spreadsheet entry.

Are we going to start an official thread with a link to the spreadsheet as the first post (maybe we did and I missed it)? I put in my mileage for the morning, but SHW has some too and I'm going to have to help her navigate.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

How do we enter our miles? Also, what is the deal with being able to glean personal info from that google data sheet? I think I'd rather just keep track of my own miles and then submit them to someone via PM.

Relax--you're not going to catch anything from it.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Whoops! You are right. I just re-read and apparently it is called Google Docs. I misread it. My bad.
