I've decided that running in Phoenix during the summer means I need to worry more about hydration than I used to. Anyone used this: http://www.sunnysports.com/prod/CMLF...4&ci_sku=CMLFF

Best Camelbak for runners?

I had a waist-worn Camelbak a few years ago, and I hated it. I ran a half marathon with it since the race didn't have aid stations, and I was honestly ready to throw the thing onto the side of the road and come back for it later. And if it wouldn't have been there when I went back for it, I wouldn't have cared. Instead I just dealt with it and took it back.

I've never really run with a fanny pack like that before. I would be curious to see how stable it felt back there. It holds a heck of a lot of water.
I use a Nathan Speed 2 hip pack. I love it. It only carries 20 oz, but you hardly know its there.

How common are organized half marathons without aid stations? Seems like quite a liability red-flag.Originally posted by Teenage Dirtbag View PostI had a waist-worn Camelbak a few years ago, and I hated it. Nathan's are nice because of the molded plastic holders. One thing I hate about my FuelBelt is the elastic bottle holders.Originally posted by bluegoose View PostI've never really run with a fanny pack like that before. Nah...you know going in that there's no aid. If you can't take care of yourself, you don't sign up. Honestly, I enjoy those types of races, they are generally free of the lets-have-a-party-while-we-run crowd.Originally posted by scottie View PostHow common are organized half marathons without aid stations? I just hate 10+ mile runs with added weight, which I'm sure is more a mental block than anything because I can't image the water you'd need for 13.1 miles would weigh more than 2-3 lbs.Originally posted by Teenage Dirtbag View PostNah...you know going in that there's no aid. I have one of these. I liked it for a couple of years, but the belt got stretched out a bit and I quit using it. Now I just cary a credit card and plan my long runs with convenience stores along the way. I'm sure the clerks love it when I use a credit card for a 60 cent bottle of water.Originally posted by bluegoose View PostI've never really run with a fanny pack like that before.
