What is going on with my heart rate?

My heart rate was out of control on my run today, and I can't figure it out. I've been running a 9:30 pace at an average heart rate of 159-163 for the last few weeks. My long run Saturday was a 9:59 at around 154, which is perfect for my target race pace of 8:50.

Today was ugly. I ran Monday and then took two days off to rest my leg, then I decided to go for a run today and rest tomorrow before a 20 on Saturday. I was short of breath pretty much the whole 6 miles, and I couldn't keep my HR under 170. Even then, my pace was over 10.

Should I be concerned? I've been eating, so it's not that. The only two things I can think of are stress and/or fatigue. The last two days have been tremendously stressful, and I've been trying to work deals out on the phone while changing pastures with cattle. When I say changing pastures, I mean hours of hard-trot riding, which is where the fatigue may come in. Today was a shorter day, which is why I thought I could go for a run. Thoughts?

I imagine you've already considered this, but is it possible that you were dehydrated? Eating is one thing, but being a couple of quarts low is a sure fire way for me to jack up my HR.

Also, any new recent meds that you've taken?

I actually expect a harder run after two days off. I don't know if I understand the physiology behind it completely, but there seems to be a correlation with time off and a feeling of fatigue on the next run.
