  • Another question for the Docs

I have an idle question. Why did my thumb split so wide open when I fell on it this week.

I little back ground - When I was a teenager I took a piece of it off. The result is that the inside half of my thumb is solid scar tissue. When I fell the thumb basicly spilt along the seam between the scar tissue and the regular tissue. I've fallen on the other hand and nothing like that has remotely happened.

Is it because normal tissue is more flexible than scar tissue?

    Thnx

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Yes and the edge between the scar and the normal tissue is very fragile and a natural plane for a split to occur.

Thanks, I forgot to ask that of the ER doc when he was sewing me back up.
