  • Legacy Parkway Bike and Run

    http://hesscancer.org/legacyparkwaytour.php

I'm thinking about doing this, it sounds fun and it Benefits the Hess Cancer Foundation, who helps provide financial support to families who lose a young child to Cancer. They have a 1/2 Marathon, 2 Mile Fun Run, and a 20 mile Bike Tour. Anyone else interested?

I think that's really cool. I could probably do the fun run or the biking, but I wouldn't touch the half-marathon with a 40-foot pole.

I doubt you (or anyone else on this site) could lift a 40 foot pole. That's really long!
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Maybe if it was a really skinny pole...

I know they are not 40', but caber tossing is pretty awesome.

I took a look at it - I thought it would be fun to take the entire family on the bike ride and even had a friend and BIL talked into doing it with their families too. But it gets a little to pricey for me when they ask $40 per person.

I think if they had some kind of set family registration we would do it. As it is, I'm no longer planning on it and neither are any of the others.

Email the race director and see what he will do. I can't imagine he wouldn't cut you a deal for a big group. I don't know how much their permit is costing them, but they would rather get some money out of you than nothing. Surely they don't expect a family of 20-25 people will pay 40 bucks each.

This is obviously up my alley, but it's in Utah. Alas.
