Yeah, so....I need to change my answer to the poll question to "None".
My NYC trip has fallen apart, and I'm not going to be able to do it, at least not this year. I've already deferred to next year, hopefully I can swing it then.
The girl we were going to have watching our kids for a week had to back out. Dumping them on our families is not cool, since the kids will all be in school and they would have to deal with getting our 4 kids where they need to go, in addition to getting them all to their various activities at night as well as take care of their own kids.
Things have also started to slow down at work, which makes me nervous. This August is looking like it might be like last August, which was our slowest month ever. We're doing fine, but the winter months are traditionally very slow, and taking on credit card debt just to go run a race makes no sense.
So anyway, I bummed about it. But it's not like they don't stage the thing every year, I guess. I figure since I'm already a month into the training I might as well stick with it and I'll go run my own lonely 26.2 on that day. The 1st Annual "I'm A Loser" marathon. Anybody else wanna come run it with me?
