          We looked into recumbent bikes for my FIL last summer, but didn't get him one for two reasons:

          1. hard for cars to see recumbent bikes since they're so low to the ground, even with the stupid flag.

          2. lousy turning radius. they're great in the straightaway but not great for paved-trail riding.

                  When I see someone on a recumbent I wonder what the thought process is "I know I need to exercise but this couch feels so good, I know I'll get a recumbent and be able to do both at the same time".
