Simple standard: Fastest time riding 25 miles wins. I don't require verification, but verifiable results will be given greater weight in a tie. Otherwise, I'll find another arbitrary method, such as giving the edge to an elder rider.

As most bike computers and the Forerunner have an auto pause feature for stoplights, you're welcome to leave off/deduct that time if you use another method, but the slowdown is not deductible. Only stoppage time. Hills, flats, I don't care. Just your time for 25 miles. If you go 25.2 in making it back to your driveway, I'll prorate the time to 25.

    Deadline Saturday midnight PDT.

Come on. I'm pretty sure Elvis was thinking exactly of this type of situation and no other when he sang the lyrics "A little less conversation, a little more action."

Sounds fun. I will have my wife drop me off in Park City and I will ride home.

You must be a runner at heart. A cyclist wouldn't think of doing such a thing.

Yeah, they would volunteer for the sag wagon.

Fine. Net elevation loss <100 ft. (That should be more than enough to compensate for the Garmin problem.)

For the record, I much prefer cycling to running.

Of course you do. Everyone does. It's becasue cyclists aren't overly touchy and don't try to cheat at friendly challenges. Plus, most cyclists over the age of 50 don't have plastic or ceramic knees, which is nice.

Places outside of Oklahoma actually have changes in Elevation. We usually call them hills or, in extreme instances, mountains. You may have seen some in Montana.

We have those! We call them overpasses!

I was just thinking the same thing. A cycling challenge where my girth would help! Find a nice long straight hill.

Hopefully the cycling computer will survive the crash as I likely won't.
