    Got my new swim jammers...

...in the mail yesterday and tried them out at the pool this morning. I was surprised at how much smoother swimming is when you aren't dragging along a suit. It was great.

In the sprint tri I signed up for the swim is 350 yards, so I've been timing myself at that distance for kicks. I went from completing it in just over 8 minutes to finishing in 7 even. I was pretty happy with the improvement, especially since I had already swam 400 yards before I did the timed swim.

As a side note - when I tried them on before heading over to swim Mrs. Eddie mentioned how much she enjoyed the view. I told her that I could tell I still had some stomach hanging over the top that I needed to get rid of and she told me that I sounded like a girl. I've lost about 25 lbs so far, with another 10 to go to get me under 2 bills, and while I am nowhere NEAR being anorexic, I couldn't help but wonder if that wasn't the same thought process that they go through. Others are telling them they look good, and they are thinking they've got to drop another 10 lbs.

Good for you. I just found out this morning that I may get a chance to swim in a relay after the swim meet this weekend. I'll be showing off my jammers for all to see. Relays are the best part of swim meets.
