It's nice to see my Strava dashboard filling up again. I'm following ~15 people and it had died down to about 3-4 activities per day max, but now that's shooting up again thanks to the competitive nature of this friendly thread. Now, please be nice and let me have tomorrow.

Intentionally took some time off from my scheduled runs in order to have a mini-taper for my half marathon this morning. This is the race where you have to go over a 100+ foot bridge twice, so it's tough. Wanted to PR again (this is my PR race - obviously I could do better on a flat course). Super hot and humid day, but still managed to get a PR by over 2 minutes. 19th overall (out of 1500+), took 2nd in my age group (outkicked a friend who is faster than me at the end - he started too fast). That's 3 podiums in 5 races.
My wife took some shots of me that she put on facebook, for those who are friends with me. It hurt. A lot.
Next week, back to regularly scheduled insane mileage.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Yes, but awards and placing were based off of chip time (except for overall winners). I was actually third in my age group but the winner of my age group took third place overall, and hence wasn't eligible (no double dipping). I tend to intentionally start back further than my pace in order to force myself to take that first mile slow.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostGreat race, P. Was it a mass start?

I will neither confirm, nor deny any rumor that I checked the spreadsheet after a going on a 6 mile run with Mrs. JiC, and decided to do 2 more miles on my treadmill so that I would finish week one on top. Ummm....I had only added my bike ride in. I just put in my treadmill time for Sunday. Might want to check the stats again.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostI will neither confirm, nor deny any rumor that I checked the spreadsheet after a going on a 6 mile run with Mrs. JiC, and decided to do 2 more miles on my treadmill so that I would finish week one on top. Very impressive. You should come run one of the many downhill canyon half marathons here in UT sometime, knock a few more minutes off that PR. Or so I hear...have yet to race a half myself. Anyway, nice time. Congrats!Originally posted by Pheidippides View Post1:37:01 (7:24/mi). Not bad for a hot day and a hard course.

Any good races on Thanksgiving in the Provo area? The kids and I will be in town and are looking for a run sometime that weekend.Originally posted by OhioBlue View PostVery impressive. I'm sure there are a few...both on Thanksgiving day and also that Saturday. There's a Turkey Trot in AF by me that I've done before and it was pretty fun, though not the best course. I'm also aware of a turkey trot in Orem that's got races for the whole family. Other than that I'm not sure.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostAny good races on Thanksgiving in the Provo area?
