Today was one of those days where I wish it were a max day. I just felt strong and every lift seemed easy.

Still haven't checked off 190 x 3 x 5 on bench. My best weigh in was 191 and 14.7 on the Omron. That's the same as three weeks ago. Switching up my diet a little to go more carbs. I dropped another notch on my belt over the past three weeks, but weight is the same, so I'm thinking I've maybe dropped a couple more lbs of fat, but it's not showing due to water. And I'm not sure about the Omron, hoping it's also not accurate due to water weight fluctuations.

I haven't read this thread but it seems like as good a place for me to wax about myself, my favorite subject!
A couple of years ago I went to see an eye doc for some reason, I can't recall. While checking out my eyes he noticed some scars/bubbles above my eyes that are an indicator of high cholesterol. I blew him off as I thought there was no way I could have high cholesterol as I eat relatively healthy and exercise. My wife had occassionaly brought it up because my paternal grandfather died relatively young of a heart attack and she kept saying it is likely a genetic issue and I should at least find out where I am. So last October I got tested and sure enough I was high. I think I scored a 232 for Cholestorol and then a 136, I think, for the bad cholesterol. I decided to try and see what some minor changes to diet would do to me. I decided to try to cut out red meat during weekdays, cut out sugary drinks, limit desert type foods and entirely cut out any sugary cereals. I did relatively well on most things except the desert consumption. In the end I think the two biggest changes were basically no sugary drinks (the only I really break it is when I host a large family bar-b-q and then I will have a few Henry Weinhards to feel part of the team) and my breakfast is basically grape nuts with a chobani yougart. In one year I brought my overall cholesterol down to 219 and my bad cholesterols down to 124. Almost half way there! I was actually surprised how much the simple adjustments of eating pork, seafood or chicken during the week instead of beef, cutting out sugary drinks and cereals made an impact that large in one year.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Well, I was disappointed but happy. Our team ended up in 6th place (no winnings) out of 150 teams. So close..
In the end I lost 60 pounds total in 78 days. Since our competition ended I am still working out and eating well (Not on a strict diet like before), and I have remained the same. I gained a few after my celebration dinner but have regulated back down. I hope to be down another 10 to 15 pounds before we start again in January. We already have another 5 member team ready. I have no aspirations of being 1st or top 3. I learned in order to be in the top 3. Every single member needs to max out.
I am able to fit into XXL clothes again and a pair of swim trunks that I never was able to wear. All my professional clothes I have stored for years are back out and being worn again. It's like a whole new wardrobe.. No gifts for me for Christmas. I got all that I need..
We weigh ourselves daily which also helps keep us on track. If we gain too much we cut back on food intake and workout longer etc.
I hope to be down another 60 pounds in the next competition and be at my goal weight (195).. Will be introducing more of a weight lifting regiment this time.. Want to increase my muscle mass...

I was off my regular workout plan for a good 2-3 weeks there. Was getting some running/lifting in here and there, but not consistent like I was before the holidays. Also spent over a week in utah and ate as much junk in that time period as I probably did in the previous 2 months total. Weigh myself at the gym today for the first time in a few weeks and dial up a 160.4.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I've finally reached the tipping point with my diet and weight. I eat at least two doughnuts or the equivalent in sweets every day and I always eat double portions at meals. I'm 5'10" and always have had a hard time putting on weight... until about 3 years ago. I'm at 188 lbs and want to lose 15 to 20. I'm dealing with an achilles injury so until that feels better, my focus will be diet. Today was day one without refined sugar and single portions. I'm miserable.

It's so hard to get on track for me. I have to be one extreme or the other. Either I eat clean or I eat everything I can get my hands on. Starting again today. A long day of snowmobiling yesterday was quite the workout. Extremely sore today.

My lowest weight was about 190. A little after Thanksgiving, I went into "bulking" mode, which for me is eating whatever I want and lifting for longer sessions more frequently. I'm about ready to go back to cutting because I've put on too much fat. I haven't done my five rep bench for quite a while. I went to higher reps and I want to try it again, because I feel stronger, but I've been having wrist pain from overworking.

I'm joining a Cougarboard challenge on www.dietbetter.com. $25 entry and the challenge is to lose 4% of your body fat in 4 weeks. Starts Friday if anyone wants to sign up. Dietbetter is one of those sites where you win money if you meet the challenge. If everyone in the group succeeds, you get back your entry fee. Anyone that doesn't make the goal forfeits their fee and the money is divided among the winners.

If you're going to cheat on your diet (forsaking it) you're going to cheat and say you made the goal.Originally posted by kccougar View PostI'm joining a Cougarboard challenge on www.dietbetter.com. $25 entry and the challenge is to lose 4% of your body fat in 4 weeks. Good job. I was at Fred Meyer today waiting in line and looked at the Butterfingers and said to myself, "Man I used to love those things." Then I realized that "used to" is powerful, and I no longer have a desire to sin.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI'm Snickers free since the first of the year.
