My BIL is running it, and I'm toying with the idea of running the half. Anyone else running it?

I am doing the half. Mrs. Hot Lunch and I signed up yesterday. We were going to do the Odgen half in May but were to late on the registration and it is now closed so we decided to do the SLC. We have been training for the past 3 months.Originally posted by cowboy View PostMy BIL is running it, and I'm toying with the idea of running the half. Anyone else running it?

You'll be fine. I started training 3 weeks ago. How long was your longest run so far? If you can run 7 you can run 13.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI am doing the half. i have done a couple of 11 mile runs. I am a bigger boy though cowboy. I wish I had lost about 10 more pounds. I was planning on running the Ogden at 235 and right now I am at 245.Originally posted by cowboy View PostYou'll be fine. I started training 3 weeks ago. How long was your longest run so far? I have done 2 in the past so I know what I am getting into."Take it to the Bank"

What pace are you running? I'd try to run with you, but I probably can't keep up. I think I'll try for around 2 hours.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View Posti have done a couple of 11 mile runs. My goal is to beat my best half marathon time which was 1.54 but I really don't think i will be able to break the 2 hour mark. I weighed a little less when I did that time than I do now and I think I was in better shape.Originally posted by cowboy View PostWhat pace are you running? I am running the full, and it could get ugly. I've been so busy at work that I haven't even come close to doing the number of miles I should be for the last month. I did manage a 1:53 half marathon last week, and that was going into a headwind for the last 5 miles, so I don't think I'm too bad off.
My plan is to keep the pace between 8:50-8:55 a mile so I don't bonk. I'm a little nervous about what's going to happen after mile 20. As long as it's a sub-4 I'm fine. If anybody wants to run together for a few, I'm up for it. I'm running with a friend who will be doing about the same pace.
