  • kccougar's daily food intake

After reading Gidget's thread, I've decided that it would be good for me to have some accountability in my diet. I eat horribly, and I should be called out on it. I figure that if I make myself sit down each morning and itemize everything I ate the day before, I might be shamed (either by myself or by others) into thinking twice about my food choices throughout the rest of each day. So here goes:

    3/26
Crown burger, fries, and a coke (one refill)
    bag of Skittles
    2 servings homemade mac&cheese
    1 serving peas
    20oz water

Good thing you evened things out with the 20 oz. water!

That's it. No breakfast, fast food lunch, and I was cooking dinner for the kids last night.

Also, that's part of my problem. I don't eat many times during the day, but I tend to eat unhealthy food when I do sit down to eat. So I'm taking in a bunch of fatty food and I'm sure my body wants to store it all since I'm really only eating two meals a day.

Funny thing about water. It doesn't even occur to me during the day to drink anything (other than at lunch) even though I know I should be drinking water. I usually only drink anything at lunch and at dinner, though I did give up drinking milk at dinner in favor of water.

A month or two ago I even brought in a water bottle to my office so I could have some on hand during the day. It has been sitting there empty right next to my computer since then. I just don't even think about it. Going to fill it right now.

I am not a big fan of just water. I have started to bring in the 20 oz bottle to work and then adding Wal-Mart's suger free packets to it. That way I still get the flavors (Orange Early Rise, Pink Lemonade, Cherry, Cherry Limeade, and my favorite Cranberry Apple) That helps me stay off of the soda.

Crystal Light and Propel both have packets, I believe they are only 5 calores too.

I was doing that for a while. I really like Propel because the flavor is not overpowering. In fact, I think I probably have a few packets lying around the office.

I think it works (so far). Yesterday I was reminded much more often to drink water, I passed up a free soda at lunch, and at night when I was rummaging through the pantry for a snack, I ended up with a banana instead of baking chocolate chip cookies.
Meal choices weren't the best, but it wasn't all my fault - mrskccougar tried a new chicken soup recipe that reportedly was simply horrid so she ran out and grabbed hamburgers when I got home from work.

                  3/27
Cafe Rio pork quesadilla (extra meat)
$0.99 McDouble and half an order of small fries
                  grapes
                  banana
                  2 pieces of hard candy
                  60-70 oz water

KC...one of us has our dates wrong.

Isn't today the 27th? Or do you already know what you are going to eat today...

You're right - I've been using today's date. However, I do know that I've got a lunch meeting today at Goodwood BBQ and a Stake Fathers&Sons outing tonight so I could pretty much predict ribs/salad for lunch and probably a bad sloppy joe for dinner tonight.

KC, is your goal to lose weight or simply monitor your calories? Are you exercising as well?

I cannot fault you for a pre-bed bowl of cereal, as I have always assumed that it was our civic duty to consume a bowl of cereal before bed-time. The fact that it was Lucky Charms (and not marshmallow mateys, oi!) only makes it all the more patriotic and proper.

When I got serious about losing weight, writing down everything I ate really kept me on the "stright and narrow".

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."
