  • Ran my first half marathon on Saturday

    The Canyonlands Half in Moab. I'm 20 lbs overweight and didn't train much. My goal was a sub 2:00, I ran it in 1:58. Things were going great until I hit the hill at about mile 9.5 (the last 3 miles were brutal):



    I'm running the Hobblecreek Half in August, and plan on being serious about training and 15 lbs lighter. Based on Hobblecreek's elevation profile, more/better training, and being lighter, my goal is 1:40. Hobblecreek's elevation:

    Nice job. That's a great time for first half. You'll smash that at Hobblecreek--there's a reason it's so popular.
    At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
