  • Turbo Jam and the law school 20

Don't mock me. I'm trying Turbo Jam to see if I can tone up and shed some weight. I'm by no means one of those women who got married and completely let herself go, but between law school and the first two years of marriage, my waistline has suffered some.

I've determined that I really hate working out at the gym (too many bronzed, toned, staring people).

It'd be lovely to be one of those people who can eat whatever and never gain weight, but I will never be one of those. I will always have to be conscious of what I eat and my activity level.

Law school 20? is that what I think it means? (ie, Freshman 15)

Yes, that's what I was referring to. I've heard the law school 20 thrown around quite a bit in our hallowed BYU Law halls. That said, I have not actually gained a full 20 lbs. (though not far off, unfortunately).

That also said, I still fit into my wedding dress, though a bit more breathlessly than before.

Folks, apologies to familia Funk. I blew it big time and deserve a flogging. No excuses.

Years ago my wife made me try a Billy Blanks Tai-Bo videotape. It was horrible. Not only did I hate the double-time portion of the workout, but I had a hard time with the exercise in front of a TV routine. It felt weird. That said, my BIL is doing the P90X with great result. He's pretty faithful about it.

I've been astounded by how much weight I've seen people gain in law school. There was a girl in my 1L class that looked like she had been eating small children for three years by the time 3L finished.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

P90X is hard as hell. It's not a "workout video" so much as a ton of pushups and pullups. You have to be in decent shape to even go through the motions.
