This thread is not necessarily for those who are watching their weight, but for those who belong to or are interested in the Weight Watchers program. Please feel free to share info about your journey through the program, ask questions, discuss point values and tips, and post WW-friendly recipes.
I've been doing Weight Watchers for almost two weeks and I'm ecstatic about how it's going. Rather than do something radical like have a procedure done, a no-carb diet, hcg injections, etc., I wanted to find something that would help me focus on nutrition. My biggest eating issues have always been portion and impulse control, and Weight Watchers specifically targets those two areas. While I wasn't the greatest eater in the world, I generally have a good history of choosing the right foods most of the time, but I still I often made bad choices about snacking and overeating. Like... serious overeating. And for no good reason, either. Like, out of boredom or convenience or stress, or any other reason NOT to eat. This is the area I'm targeting the most: considering the consequences of everything I eat, teaching myself to recognize when I'm full, choose a healthy snack instead of a carby one, and not eating just for the hell of it.
I do have a weight loss goal, and Weight Watchers will help me achieve it, but my main focus is on creating a new lifestyle built around better eating. The weight loss and management will come on their own if I can focus on how I eat and make improvements there. In the two weeks I've been doing Weight Watchers I've made incredible strides in this process.
Anyone here do Weight Watchers? How many PointsPlus are you allowed per day? What's your favorite under-3-PointsPlus snack?

Tim, that's very impressive. I'm curious if you notice a difference in how you feel--better or worse? I know sometimes during periods of weight loss one can feel "deprived" or simply run down. One hopes you're keeping your energy level up and are feeling the beneficial effects. It's like you've just removed a fully loaded backpack, although I guess it took a bit longer than that. Keep up the great work.
