At the dentist the other day for a deep cleaning...

And before they can start they take blood pressure and resting heart rate. They took mine and didn't believe the number. They took it 3 times in total, and it was the same number each time.

My BP was 116/68 and my resting heart rate was 52. She didn't seem to like the numbers and didn't expound.

What about those numbers could have concerned her? I don't know enough to know enough, but I don't know enough to be bothered by it a tad.

Those numbers are very good, our at least solidly in the "good" category. To be honest, she probably expected a person of your size to have higher numbers. You should have called her on it.

      Subtle.

I am fat, but healthy. Everytime I get blood work done, my Dr. buddy always says "Tick...if I didn't know you, I would figure that you were average height and weight. Bloodwork looks normal."

Heh. I figured you've been open about it before, so what the hell.

On my last visit to the Dr....he said "You are as healthy as a horse Tick. As big as one too."

Good thing I like the guy. (Coached his daughter in soccer for a couple of years. Still to this day my family doesn't get charged a copay!)

Runner's World had an interesting debate on this topic.

My blood pressure is a little high, but the rest of my tests are good to excellent. My doctor had the same type of reaction and comments your doctor had with you. My resting heart rate is in the mid to low 40's. I've had it a time or two in the high 30's. That freaked me out. My glucose and cholesterol tests are well below normal also. I really don't eat all that unhealthy the majority of the time and I move around a lot and yet I've kept getting bigger as I get older. It has been frustrating and a major fight to start to reverse that pattern. I sometimes wonder if we're long lost twin brothers. We have a lot of similarities in our lives and I think we're about the same age.

I like tomatoes in things like salsa or sauce, but don't like them on things like a sandwich or in a salad. I like onions in and all different kinds. I usually only like raw onions if they are mixed in something like salsa. I prefer grilled onions on a burger or sandwich but will eat diced raw onions on a dog.

Holy crap. We are the same person.

I am not a grilled onion fan, but if you pickle them....lookout.

I too have odd blood work. While I take medicine for high blood pressure, I have low cholesterol, high good cholesterol, low triglycerides, and really good blood sugar. But, I'm sick all the time of minor ailments.
