Thanks. You mentioned you've done MCM, have you done some other big ones? All of the marathons I've done, it takes a minute, at most, to get to the start line. It'll be interesting to be running for 5-10 minutes before I even get to the start.

I ran Nashville, which was pretty good sized (I think 15 or 20k runners), and St. George. In the interest of full disclosure, I only ran the half in Nashville, but halfers and fullers all started together and ran together for the first 12 miles.

I'd suggest trying to angle for the front of a wave. That gives the course time to clear out a little. Otherwise, you're trying to pass people for the first 10 miles.

I ran most of the race in St. George with the pacer, and he said that the NYC Marathon was far and away his favorite - I'm jealous.

That's what I'll do. It's kind of funny, because on the one hand I obviously want to run it as fast as I can, but on the other hand, it could turn out to be a once in a lifetime experience, and I'd want it to last as long as possible.

Not that I'm even close to qualifying for Boston (I need to shave 30 minutes off my PR), but I honestly want to run NYC way more than Boston. It doesn't have the history of Boston, but to me looks much more fun.

That is awesome. I am jealous. Mostly just jealous that you can do a marathon and I feel proud that one day I went for a 7 mile run.

Congrats. That should be an incredible experience. One word of advice. Don't leave your wake up call on race day to Elaine or Jerry.
