Does anybody have any experience with these? I tired some in the gym last night and it seems like a pretty good workout but I'm just looking for some feedback.

I've goofed around with them a bit, but like you, dont really know how to use them. It seems like right now the big thing is to get into a class and use them as part of a high energy group workout.
Seems easier to just use dumbbells, esp for the heavier stuff, but again, I dont know how to use them properlyFitter. Happier. More Productive.

Swings and get-ups are really good exercises, but I don't have access to any and they're really expensive to buy. I imagine they're better than dumbbells for building functional strength due to the more dynamic way they tend to be employed.

Squat swings with a 30 lb KB (yeah, I drive the ladies wild with that kind of weight--seriously, I look like a stork swinging its purse while doing plies') are part of one of my routines. I do at least three sets of 15 reps. Just that one exercise works most of the body, even the forearms and wrists, but as DDD notes I'm not sure I couldn't achieve pretty much the same effect with a dumbbell. But my slavedriver of a trainer insists I use them, and I am nothing if not obedient.

One of my friends is very into kettle bells and recently achieved some kind of certification in kettle belling. He also wants to enter a competition later in the year but his wife isn't so excited about that.
I also tried some of snatch-n-grab (or whatever) techniques at the 24 Hour Fitness during the PAC Family Fitness March of Death known as Christmas vacation and the handgrip had some textured grip that was painful. My friend has forked out quite a bit for competition-style, steel KBs.
My final thought is that when I Google my name now, some senior citizen KB champion comes up for a page or so. It used to be a journalist, I hope it's me one day -- or a Shake Weight champion.I have nothing else to say at this time.
