I have been using the BodyMedia band that I bought at Costco a couple of weeks ago. It is an arm band that you put on your upper left arm and leave it there. It monitors how many steps you take, and how many calories you are burning as well as your sleep patterns.

The sleep patterns are my favorite. When I wake up, I plug it in to my computer and it shows me how much I slept the night before, how much lying down time I had, my sleep efficiency, etc. Pretty cool. Over the past 2 weeks, I am sleeping between 5 hours 55 minutes and 6 hours and 10 minutes.

It also has an online feature where you can enter in all of the food you ate during the day and compare it with how many calories you actually burned. Pretty interesting. So far so good.

You can buy it at Costco for $200. you get a free 12 month subscription to their site to enter in all of your information. The site is: www.bodymedia.com

Yes, I guess it is. I wonder if it is the same company or just a new competitor to it. Bodybug may be a bit cheaper too which is a bonus.

I remember when I was in Utah and working out at 24 Hour Fitness they would try and sell them to you everyday. Biggest Loser uses them I know.

This seems cool, I'm going to run to Costco today and see if they have them here. Nice find, I notice YOhio doesn't bring things like this to the board. Thanks for nothing Dayton.

For those interested, Costco is having a $40 off of the new version (same thing but 1/3 of the size so it is much more comfortable to wear on your arm). This tracks your activities as well as your sleep. Pretty accurate. It is the BodyMedia Fit, normally sells for $169, but it is now at Costco (Utah's at least) for $129. Gives you 6 months subscription to the service. After that, its $6.95 per month.
