I know Faith was wearing them. Here's a thread -

Wow, that is impressive. Are you faster now than before? Less injuries? and how long did you work up to such feats of strength?Originally posted by Slim View PostI started running in vibrams about a year ago. Now I go completely barefoot for my short runs (6 miles or less) and wear vibrams for my weekend long runs. I did 14 miles in my vibrams on Saturday.

I'm faster now. I wasn't really injured much to begin with. I started with the vibrams doing about 1 mile a day and added about a mile a day each week. After my wife had a baby in February, she started running again and since she wasn't going very far or fast and she was sticking to neighborhoods with sidewalks I decided to try going on some runs with her while completely unshod. I just kept going barefoot after that. It hurt at first but now I'm mostly used to it.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostWow, that is impressive. Are you faster now than before? Do you heel strike? I'm a heel striker and wonder what would happen if I tried some of these things.Originally posted by Slim View PostI'm faster now. I wasn't really injured much to begin with. You would stop really quickly.Originally posted by Eddie Jones View PostDo you heel strike? I'm a heel striker and wonder what would happen if I tried some of these things.
I barefoot ran last summer for a while and it sped me up a little and helped my form quite a bit. I did the same thing as slim--gradually increased the portion of my run that i did barefoot each day ( an out-and-back so this is easy). I loved the feel of it- it really wakes up your feet. I stopped because i bloodied up my toe one day and it put me out of commission for a few weeks.
I didn't like the looks of the vff's so i went with the new balance mt100 instead. It's a very minimal shoe, very light, but doesn't look as goofy. I ran a couple of halfs and a couple of relays in them, have probably 400 miles on them and they're doing fine (and no wear pattern on the outside heel!). But they still dont offer quite the same feel as barefoot so i may pick up a pair of vff's im the spring. Of course, I've seen a ton of minimalist shoe models coming out lately too, so who knows what will be there ny then?At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
