[I figure with a title like that this thread will take off!]
So I've been running for about a month and have been steadily increasing my distances. I'm up to 2.25 miles at a pace of 8:30 minute miles. My body is responding well, at least it does if I remember to stretch after running.
One issue that is plaguing me (and it has since I was 17 and a senior running track) is dry heaving. I've noticed that after getting 1.75 miles into my run my throat seems to swell up a bit (or at least it feels like that) and I start gagging and dry heaving. I'm not running any faster at this point in my run but it always seems to happen in the same spot. THis forces me to slowdown or stop and heave for about 10 seconds after which I walk for 10 seconds and then start running again.
Anyone else experience anything like this? Any solutions on how to get it to stop?
