Me and my brother hiked Snoqualmie pass on skins, ate our lunches at the top, strapped in and snowboarded down a few years ago on Thanksgiving holiday... it was pretty rad. There was decent coverage and we did get some good lines in at the top, but I did have to bunny hop a creek at some point near the bottom.

    • Just got my 8-year old boy his passes to Brighton. He is going up every Friday afternoon and every Saturday thru the end of January. He is pumped. Problem is - he gets back around 6pm on Fridays and then he has basketball games after every ski day. Yeah, he will be tired, but he should be happy.

Does Brighton still do Skisters? Last time we were in Utah I was cleaning out a storage area in my mom's basement and I found my silver medal from the 9 year old Skisters Race, I was racing up I was an 8 year old. My kids were probably less impressed than anyone that reads this.

          • Im hoping that storm passes through here tonight or tomorrow.

            Next week: ski time.

Yesterday evening I was walking around in my ski pants just to get the vibe going.
            Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

                    • Seriously, WTH? This looks insane, not to mention a little rough on the Nordicas.

                        • Went boarding today and it was freezing with 40+ gusts. Mammoth does not have enough snow yet and what they had is getting blown away. I'll wait till the end of january to go again. Hopefully it will be better by then.

I saw this for the first time the other day. It's crazy. I guess he died in an avalanche last year in Utah.

That's absolutely nuts. Looks like he landed on his neck.

Died just a couple of weeks ago, at Snowbird. There were a few avalanches that weekend caused by folks skiing out of bounds or inbounds before the resorts had performed avalanche control.
