I know that muscles begin to deteriorate after 72 hours, and that I only have one or two day resting periods max between muscle groups. Progress would be incredibly slow doing an exercise once a week. Especially cardio.

Are you saying, for example, that you work your biceps every three days? I'm usually sore for about 5 days after I work a particular muscle group (I'm going heavy and to failure here not working on endurance). 72 hours wouldn't be enough rest for me. That is why my cycle repeats every six days.

Most of the stuff I've read on the subject says that unless you are on anabolic steroids once (and maybe twice) a week is all that you should be doing.

As far as cardio, I'm what you'd call a hardgainer (hence the moniker). I'm 6'4" and 192lbs and I have to stuff myself to get enough calories not to LOSE weight. What I'm trying to say is that I limit my cardio to twice a week because even though I'd like to keep my heart healthy I really don't want to lose more weight than I have to.

I'm 6'1" with a 6'4" wingspan. Worst of both worlds.

Just put up 285. I didn't think I'd be able to do that much after having a new baby during finals week made me lose some weight.

I started doing weighted dips a couple of months ago and I think that has helped some with my chest and tris. We don't have a belt for that at my school gym so I end up holding a 60lb dumbbell between my knees while I do my dips. I also have to do this when I do weighted pull ups but usually with only 35-45 extra pounds.

My life is going to be much less stressful for the next couple of months so I should be able to put on more weight and increase my bench.

Here's to benching 300lbs next month!

              I had to google that.

Nothing but protein and creatine. Plus I just started benching again so my gains are still coming pretty quickly.

I know you've all been anxiously waiting for an update.

                305lbs today!

Also I got an A on my 7am pharm test this morning. Overall it has been a pretty kickass day.

Nice! I bet I couldn't even lift 165 right now.

Does anybody use the projected max method for bench press? See the chart below:

That's how I calculate it. I'm cutting so my bench press is suffering. I only got 265 x 5 last workout.

Ps that was a humble brag and I can't get anything close to 265 up.

AZCOM has a gym now? Glad to see that my tuition money went to something useful.

Actually, I just remembered. They always had a gym. It was just really, really small and the stuff was always broken there.

I played TONS of basketball there though.

They have a pretty nice/big gym now. The freeweight area by itself is about as big as the old gym was. The machine room is pretty huge and there is a room for fitness classes and a music room and a big basketball court. It is pretty nice.
