    Snowshoe Race

I am doing a snowshoe race next week on top of the Sandia Crest (10,600 feet elevation). I do this race every year, but this year my doctor has me on a beta blocker which kind of acts like a speed governor on the heart and blood pressure. Usually, I place fairly well in my age group (older than dirt). I think this year, I won't be able to go full out, so I'll use it as a chance to take a stroll in the woods. If you haven't tried it, check out some local races; it is a pretty unique experience.

I was scheduled to run another snowshoe race today, but it was cancelled because . . . . there was too much snow! We had a pretty good dump of snow in the mountains locally, and they couldn't clear the roads in time. I'll get a chance to do the race in a couple of weeks however.
