    Best Workout Song Thread

    I thought I would make a short list of some of my favorite workout songs. Songs that have a nice tempo and are upbeat. Its often easier for me to keep my pace if the song I'm listening to pushes me a long.

    Most of these songs are not brand new, but who cares. Feel free to add any of your own. Hopefully we can all discover some new music for our playlists.

    Go Go Gadget Gospel - Gnarls Barkley. Great Video too.
    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtlMXl4tPco&feature=fvw"]YouTube- Gnarls Barkley - Go-Go Gadget Gospel [video][/nomedia]

    Transformer - Gnarls Barkley. Nice for those trying to "transform" their body.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5Q5oPhOKxo"]YouTube- Gnarls Barkley St Elsewhere Transformer[/ame]

    Abra Cadaver - The Hives. I used to just listen to this entire Hives album as my workout playlist.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxSqFt1I0bI"]YouTube- The Hives-Abra Cadaver[/ame]

    Walk, Idiot, Walk - The Hives.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7YvXTYaF0Q"]YouTube- THE HIVES Walk Idiot Walk[/ame]

    A Little Bit More - Jamie Lidell. A good song for the end of your work out to get you to push to the end.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7omxJD1PGyY"]YouTube- Jamie Lidell A little bit more[/ame]

    New Me - Jamie Lidell. Fast and nice "transformation" image, if you like that sort of motivation.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpAL-mvi5b4"]YouTube- Jamie Lidell - New Me[/ame]

    Feels Just Like It Should - Jamiroquai. Maybe my favorite workout song.

    Le Disko - Shiny Toy Guns.

    Hearts in a Cage - The Strokes.

    Angry Kids of the World (UNITE!) - Tiger Tunes. I don't think this is the official video.

    Bowtie - Outkast

    Easy - Barenaked Ladies. This might seem like an odd choice, but the beat keeps me going.

    Tenderoni - Chromeo

    Maybe it's just me, but WTF is up with that list of froufrou songs? None of them are anywhere near angry or intense enough for me. When I work out, I need to be pissed - otherwise I can't make my body do what my mind knows I can.

      lol. I need to be happy, not pissed. If I'm doing weights, then I need to be more angry. Speaking of which, what are your angry songs?

        I have a full list somewhere, but I can give you a few of my Nike+ Powersongs as a representative sample. Over the last few months, I've had:

        [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU1gpboHUV8"]YouTube- Metallica - Disposable Heroes Music Video[/ame]

        [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk0KDKDNDs0"]YouTube- Megadeth - Addicted To Chaos Music Video[/ame]

        [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nitQ9mnj-rs"]YouTube- Metallica-Of Wolf And Man[/ame]

        [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DfYLar2QGI"]YouTube- Pantera - Cowboys From Hell[/ame]

        [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mHe6FMs46o"]YouTube- Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast[/ame]

        I fully realize that these are more intense than I would guess many on here would choose. I should note that the last one is going to be my powersong for the Marathon - I have it strategically placed in my playlist. I should hit it at mile 8.5 or so, which is when I need to shift into another gear for the next ten miles. That song is always good for an adrenaline burst.

        Edit: The first Metallica one is also the opening one for my marathon playlist. I start almost every run with that song - it is 8:17 long and intense, so it makes a for a great start.

              I am with Niku. I need something intense. Especially if I am lifting.

                I don't understand the idea of needing to be angry to work out. But I guess it works for some people.

                  What do you do to get ready for a big lift? Break out a bottle of ammonia? Have your wife slap you a few times?

                    What would I need to do to get ready? I get under the bench and bench. Under the squat rack and squat. I don't get it.

                              My son downloaded some Linkin Park onto my iPod for my workouts. They get my intensity up.
