How cold before you stop exercising outside

Just idle curiousity, but how cold does it have to be, before you stop exercising outside?

I may be small, but I'm slow.

When I took my run on Saturday, it was 22 (in Houston!), so colder than that.

There was a discussion on the early morning Saturday health show on the local radio. They said that you shouldnt excercise when it is colder out than freezing and it damages internal and external tissue.

I had ice crystals in my beard this morning, but since I only walk to the gym rather than actually exercising outside, I'll tough it out. You're tougher than me if you're running outside when it's 10 degrees though.

I just got back from my run this morning, and it was eight degrees. On a side note, I need better running gloves...
          Not that, sickos.

I normally stop walking at about 10 degrees or so. I really don't like cardio machines, so I tough it out

Generally about 40 for me. Though I did do a 16 mile race last year where it was 10 degrees and snowing. Quite the experience.

Did they talk about any preventative measures like neck gaiters, good hats and gloves, and warm clothes, or did they just say don't do it period?

In the past I've gone on bike rides when it has been as cold as 25 degrees. Now, i realize it just makes me grumpy and puts me on the fast track to getting burned out, so I try to limit rides to about 40 degrees.

Running, OTOH, is usually pretty comfortable down to about 25 degrees. Beyond that and it just hurts to breathe deeply. Prime running weather for me is between 35-45 degrees.

It's been in the mid to low 20's during my running hours all this week. I haven't run once so I guess mid to low 20's is my answer. It never gets this cold here and I've become a cold weather wuss living here the past 12 years.

There was frost on the ground a few weeks ago when I headed out for a 2 mile run in Oregon. It must have been in the 30's. That was too cold for me. I want a treadmill.

I definitely can run fastest and farthest around 40 degrees. I am praying for early morning temps of about 35 on marathon day. I just ordered my special marathon singlet, too - and I have a shout out to CUF on there.

At what temperature does hell freeze over? I hate treadmills. This is just one of the perks of living in arizona I guess.
