    Witnesses

While on the subject of witnesses I was wondering how much credence we give to witnesses outside our own traditions.

What think ye of the 7 witnesses to the alien abduction of Travis Walton?

7 men claim they saw the ship come and take Travis away. They have all been polygraphed and to this day none have ever recanted their testimonies.

Personally, I find their story fairly compelling.

Read, ponder and pray. That's what we were supposed to do in response to those other witnesses.

Well I don't think this is a read, ponder, and pray type of occurence but if you feel so compelled I don't think any harm would come from it.

I don't feel compelled whatsoever. I won't dismiss their claims out of hand, nor will I say they are likely to be correct.

I guess I really don't care about it. Just being honest.

I remember when I was young, watching the movie Fire in the Sky on a Saturday night.

The next day, Sunday, our little country ward was overrun by a large group of visitors from Snowflake Arizona.

Hallelujah! Twas a miracle that a bunch of tourists from that very same part of the country visited my ward. The women all knew Travis personally, and though they were loathe to reveal it, with a little cajoling (a very little), they had many stories to tell of his teenhood and early adulthood.

Lips were pursed, Tongues were clucked, and judgements were passed.

Suffice it to say, I don't believe everything Travis says about the incident. Although Im not willing to disregard it outright.
