Why don't Mexicans participate in the Olympics?

Because all those that can run, jump, and swim have crossed the border. Zing!

-You are a good looking boy for being black

-The mark of Cain didn't extend to your family you are beautiful people (stated to the same 16 year old kid)

-I don't mean to throw everyone into the same bucket, but immigrants have been the primary source of our country's problem for the past 15 years

Four things I heard tonight during a gardening event for the youth of our ward.

The enlightened individuals who stated this? YM President, Stake YM President, and the First Counselor in the Stake Presidency.

I pulled each aside individually after and told them I felt it inappropriate to express these types of views in front of the youth or at any sanctioned church gathering. I was summarily dismissed.

Inexcusable. What's wrong with these adults?

I am off to Youth Conference tomorrow. I am now wondering if I will be privy to such verbal shenanigans over the next few days.

Oops. Unless you live in some city east of the Mississippi and south of Virginia. Is that OK or still to personal? I am still learning some of the rules on here.

Is your stereotype any better than the ones you're decrying?

'71 - the answer is "yes, it is."

Well I believe leaders are called by the spirit and the spirit would not call folks who talked like that. I expect if SU happens to see this, he will lay the far more damaging term of "ignorant" on me.

Yes, I am stereotyping white chrisitans. There is nothing wrong with that.

Leave the South out of your stereotype and I believe you.

                            Actually no.

One of the boys in our ward has olympic swimming aspirations and was talking about his training schedule when this gentlemen decided to impart this gem about our neighbors to the south.

The best part? He rallied multiple young men, young women and some leaders to tell us something 'important.' Wunderbar!

For the record, had I been there, those kids would've heard an f-bomb from Brother Mac.
