    Talk Next Sunday

So I have to talk next Sunday the 14th for 10 min in the 31+ Singles Ward. I've known about it for a few weeks now.

They told me I could talk about anything I want to, and normally I don't have any difficulty coming up with a subject or topic that I want to touch on, but this time I'm stumped. I have no idea what I want to talk about. It may very well come to me later in the week, but in the meantime I'm open for some help.

Any suggestions? (serious ones please,,,thanks in advance)

Any topic? Sounds like an open invitation to discuss how "someone you know" overcame a serious masturbation addiction.

Keep it, His Majesty even Jesus Christ, centered.

My daughter gave a talk in Primary this weekend.

Her topic was "The Gifts of Christmas." My wife wrote it, of course, and I thought it was a nice message.

Spoke about what true gifts we can give this Christmas...it reminded me a lot of the Howard W Hunter talk when he was President....the one wherein he admonished us to forgive a grudge, be more kind, etc....

That Pres. Hunter talk was a great talk. You might want to revisit that one.
        Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

That was definitely one of the talks that made me proud of my heritage. Considering President Howard W. Hunter's short tenure in the hot seat, this simple message of forgiveness is much less diluted than it could have been had he served for more time. President Hunter, to me, definitely came across as one of the most good and humble servants to hold the church's highest office.

How about explaining why eternal life is the greatest gift of all.

Just tell it like it is, Rocky.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Something to do with John Martinez and how self-righteousness is both justifiable and commendable.

I hate those obvious questions they ask in Sunday School.

Okay,,,I'm still struggling to come up with something concrete.

I do have a couple of ideas, but I'm just not sure yet.

I've thought about sharing how our self-worth is tied in with our relationship with Jesus Christ......*ducks*

I was asked to give a talk this summer and told I could choose the topic. I spoke on one of my favorite albums. I'm sure everyone was uplifted. Hopefully that gets me out of ever having to speak again.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

That is better than the Constitutionalist in my ward that went off on some crazy, crazy tangent. That guy won't not get a topic again.

I'm sure after going over the finer points of "Seventeen" by Winger you had the males in the audiences uplifted in one way or another.

Never heard of it. I think it was my metro style of dress that had the protestors outside our chapel uplifted, however.
