I listened to a Muslim and a Jewish Rabbi today

In our area we have something called Interfaith Interconnect that has monthly religion chats. They pick a subject, then have people from two different religions come speak on that subject, The various churches take turns holding meeting in their buildings.

Today's topic was "What does your faith teach about the acceptance of other religions? Has it changed over time?" We've had this subject once or twice before with various Christian churches, but I expected this one to be very interesting because the two speakers were a Muslim and a Jewish Rabbi. Both did a very good job of explaining their positions, but I was especially impressed with the Muslim.

The Muslim speaker had a PhD in Islamic Studies, or something like that. He explained how they have always coexisted with Christians and Jews. When the subject of radical Islam came up he gave this quote:
ISIS is to Islam as the Ku Klux Klan is to Christianity
I just wish the views of Muslims like him could be broadcast a bit more on the news rather than only the extremists. We would likely all get along better.

By the way, the logo for the Interfaith Interconnect is: Coexist.jpg
