  • Source material for the Book of Mormon

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAGa...ature=youtu.be

So what's everyone's take on this? Here is a short list of the works that are most statistically likely to have been source material for the Book of Mormon in order of significance:

    1. The KJV
    2. The 1822 English Translation of the Koran
    3. The Late War Between the United States and Great Britain
    4. The Rights of Christ (1815)
    5. The First Book of Napoleon, Tyrant of the Earth
    6. View of the Hebrews

I don't think Mormon or Moroni knew about or had access to ANY of those things. So I'm sticking with "from God".

"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

        Just read B.H. Roberts already.

Oh, and James Adair's book and the Adventures of Captain Kidd should be on the list too.

Something I found interesting was how he took certain works that have been brought up in the past (e.g. Solomon Spaulding), and showed that despite some obvious passages they weren't nearly as statistically significant as some other works. Very cool stuff not possible until recently when google scanned like a million books and plugged them into their database. So BH Roberts can go pound sand
