So I was just looking at the LDS apology petition at www.LDSapology.org. There was an article about it in the deseret news today. The petition is requesting that the Church soften its anti-gay policies.

Since the deseret news wrote about the petition, it has been signed by people named:

When I was in my early twenties we had a frequent customer at my family's restaurant named Edith but did not know her full name. Her son told us that she had passed away. It was very sad and in the back of the restaurant we decided to look at the obituaries. It turns out her name was Edith A. Bush. I knew then that I was a terrible person, because I could not stop laughing at her name and neither could anyone else. I had to have someone else finish up his table.

Interesting thing about that site. The petition doesn't even call for an "apology." It aims for "reconciliation," which "requires that parties on both sides of this issue . . . be open to understanding, forgiveness (both asking for and accepting), and apology."

I wonder if they've lowered their aim somewhat since procuring the domain name.

I think hippies started that trend, BYU just latched onto it. DDD always says that BYU doesn't have very many original things.

I would be willing to bet you lunch that the ratio of people wearing sandals with socks at the University of Oregon is at least 2-1 that of BYU-P.
