Seems like this is just a way to have “police” who aren’t subject to gramma and can coordinate with the HCO. Not a fan.

How progressive.“The new police and security structure will fully separate law enforcement functions from internal security functions to effectively protect our campus community and allow BYU Police to focus solely on law enforcement activities,” Hafen said."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Triggered much? Don’t all buildings/orgs use some type of security (usually outsourced)? Seems like a good idea to separate it from the police department.Originally posted by Now who’s the dean? Not to the best of my knowledge, but perhaps I’m triggered beyond the point of realizing I’m triggered. BYU already has non-police security staff. This isn’t happening in a vacuum btw. BYU has given us plenty of reason to be suspicious of their policing policies.Originally posted by Moliere View PostTriggered much? https://www.cougarboard.com/board/me...ml?id=24702451Glenn Beck today ripped on BYU for its Liberal/Progressive path with professors
he said are teaching Socialism/Liberalism, anti-Christ/anti-Mormon, anti-Capitalism. In fact, he said: "You couldn't pay me enough money to send my kids there now." I know Beck can be rather hyperbolic and dramatic, but wonder how much truth there is with his conclusion. Are things really that bad at BYU?
Apparently BYU needs to make the honor code much stronger to stop the rising tide of the liberal, anti-Christ, and anti-Mormon professors taking over the university. So says Glenn Beck.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

If Glenn Beck is looking for someplace more conservative, I'm curious where he is going to send his kids. Bob Jones? Liberty? Are there any other possibilities?Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View Posthttps://www.cougarboard.com/board/me...ml?id=24702451

Glenn Beck lost his mind years ago. Can't believe people still listen to that guy."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

WTF? I know you like to jab at the Aggies (the Texas version of Aggies) but my kids have attended both Texas A&M and BYU and they are not even in the same tier on any scale measuring conservatism. The obvious answer to the query of what university is more conservative than BYU is: BYU-Idaho.Originally posted by Moliere View PostTexas A&M

Oh come on, man. Laugh a bit. A&M is incredibly conservative but I know it's not quite the same as BYU, even though A&M didn't allow women until like the 1960s or something like that. Now BYU-Idaho is definitely the most conservative of them all, but I still wouldn't mind my kids going there. They are growing up in Texas where they aren't surrounded by the overbearing Mormon culture that permeates BYU-Idaho and Id' hope they'd keep a sense of realism about it all while attending.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostWTF? I do like all the stories about how BYU is going apostate. That's hilarious. I guess I was oblivious to it all as I spent 80% of my time in the Tanner building. I guess it's hard to intertwine apostate doctrine into a discussion of debits and credits. I did have a couple crazy religious professors but most of them were great, humble people."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. No, you’re looking at it all wrong. It’s testimony building because not even the liberal, anti-Christ, anti-Mormon professors can stop the work!!Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View PostI wonder how many testimonies of Jesus Christ and the restored gospel were destroyed this week by those liberal, anti-Christ, and anti-Mormon professors.
