Looks like funk and all the other "crybabies" are going to get what they want!
http://www.cougarboard.com/board/mes...ml?id=16212816From what I'm hearing, BYU is going to give amnesty for any honor code violations that occurred in connection with an alleged rape. I personally feel like complete amnesty goes too far, especially in situations where its proven that the alleged rape was fabricated. But from the sounds of it, the decision makers think that (1) the number of people impacted by this decision is small and (2) its cruel to seek to tack on a HC investigation when a woman has suffered a rape. I agree w/ both of these points, I just think that such a blanket policy invites fabrication w/o consequences. In the end, this debate has been overblown in my opinion considering the number of instances we're talking about. I've especially been annoyed with those that have tried to claim that BYU's HC office targets those that claim rape. Whatever.
The general authorities have July off, so my best guess is that the policy change will likely occur in August or September.
This could probably also go in the Big 12 Expansion Groundswell thread.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
Dig your own grave, and save!

Seems like these stories are all several years old. Do they have one that happened in the past 4 years?Originally posted by mpfunk View Post

If issues with the honor code sink our getting into the BIG 12, well "what is, is"?
I am sure a large number of fans would rather be Independent and keeping our principles. Like no facial hair. No single members of the opposite sex in the same room after 10 or showing affection in public.
You know, Independence isn't all that bad when you realize we will have kept our honor.

https://news.byu.edu/news/Advisory-C...g-Final-ReportThe BYU Advisory Council on Campus Response to Sexual Assault is concluding its study and preparing a final report with recommendations that will be sent to the President and President’s Council. Since mid-May the Council has conducted an in-depth examination of the sexual assault reporting process at BYU and the university’s handling of sexual assault cases. The university intends to share these recommendations with the campus community this fall.

But the statement is factual, it was just an incomplete quote. "It's oftentimes based on their faith and their family...and their ACT score".Originally posted by Commando View Posthttp://www.sltrib.com/news/4291553-1...-to-shame-list

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
