  • Missionaries in your area

Some good some bad. I followed missionaries that did not want to work no helped themselves to fridge it did effect member missionary work get out of here basically. Took there time Camoing basically. In our we'd there is Spanish and English missionaries, and at one recent convert they wanted to feed them both and lady that just joined church wondered appropriteneaa of it. Or for Eldera and Sisters to be eating at restaurants together.

8 miles from church and asked around for dinner appointment when one didn,t have food. On my mission several members insisted on feeding us when we didn,t have food so I got over feeling guilty over showing up at meal time. I hated with passion asking for members to pick us up like it was enough sacrifice for them to feed us. One time left calender at someone's place so rs signed up one calender and we had another one, to make call lady's job easier. Had pagers before cell phones and one member called asked if we were coming. Had to apologize and not say much as we were already there. Stood up appointment were not upset but call lady upset threatened to cLl mp to rat on already embarrassed missionaries.

Missionaries used to sit on stand now told not too, but one that played piano did prelude while organ was plying. Probably not bad idea but sounded like Pentecostal church when that was taking place.

I first heard of dusting of feet from rm living mentally in mission. Bs,Ed with me in mc at Ricks for two hours, leRned Don,t do it when pissed and spirit Don,t elk your u to do it. Few seriously do that, heRd of one with temper when gun pointed T him cursed house to ground and said would burn down in year. In front of neighbors. Something missionaries Don,t do.

One missionary in fast and testimony meeting promised in the name of Jesua Chriat that I guess more referrals would come. Two Apostles disagree with him Dallin on agency and M. Russ on testimonies. What is appropriTe for testimony.

I mentioned missionary that said Sabbath was Jesus, bday and if you don,t celebrate properly watch Super Bowl not properly celebrating his bday. Interesting perspectives. Missionaries aren,t most doctrinaire. Will learn more by age and study.

In multi stake singles ward was asked for referrals T institute building can,t for him give referrals. Come of mine would not street find in pRking lots because they would be upset Never join church Nd how great our sorrow would be. Like they would join church anyway, I wan,t good at gluing people myself in parking lots though. But we won't feel guilty if we tick them off. If that was case would constantly worry about offending people and a few people do join church that way.

One straight laced missionary quoted love Satan in zone meeting on staying too long at members homes and missing people at gas stations. Took pride in passing desert to keep rule. Nth at rule hard to keep. Maas rm some people surprised he was that way. Letter of law so important more than people. One ap said we will do this and not murmur. How did he have that much power. Then hypocritically quote 121 of D and C that says not to behave like he did. Important there.
As missionary expected members to drop everything however a arm can,t all the time for missionaries. Some good some bad in area I think. How do you feel about them. Remember not every member is a missionary, but every membe is a mission President.

It was just announced by my Bishop that if our ward doesn't find housing for the missionaries (for free) within the next 45 days, the MP will pull the missionaries out. Sounds like blackmail to me. A couple years ago, my ward housed two sets of missionaries in member's homes. One set for my ward and ZLs in a neighboring ward. Then the MP pulled the Sisters out who were living with my MIL and the ZLs had to move when the single guy they lived took in his elderly mother. Now the missionaries are renting an apartment and their rent is being raised so we got the 45 day notice.

Sounds good to me. One less thing to deal with.

Sounds like the MP is playing chicken but driving a smart car. I'd run over him with your Truck.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. That's a weird threat. Kind of like threatening to end a meeting early or to not allow the aaronic priesthood to tell us about their recent camp out.

I'd be willing to kick in rent money in exchange for a lifetime release from any further entreaties to provide referrals or introductions to neighbors and friends. I don't condemn the mishies, as they're very new at this, but we've been hosting missionaries for 40+ years-- it's irritating and yet sort of endearing that they make their pitch for referrals like it's the first time we've been asked to think about it. Pretty much every friend, neighbor and most clients know I'm LDS and if they want to know more, I'm sure I'll be the first to hear.

It would seem to provide some kind of fun personal entertainment if every time a new set of missionaries came to dinner and hit you up for a referral you acted with exaggerated excitement and surprise that you hadn't been approached before. Then just ignore them until an entirely new set arrived.

In our community two grade school teachers settled here from Midwest. Surprise as many grade school teachers not married to local farmers had low tenure. Tenure good now for many. Anyway took lessons but staunch Cathlics. We're told faith would be tested, aid at school asked how to go about getting them interested in church, like they were never approached before. Of course know they are approached but is there more magic touch we can do to get them interested. Most people I know if they will or won,t join church.

Missionaries in field don,t know people. Brings me to another point, I did referral center in mtc begged guys that ordered to let missionaries come to there home. I don,t think I had single media refers baptism on my mission myself though.

Referral employees told us to be pushy, like someone that never spent day in field and won,t meet them will have magic touch. But we did interview new members too. At end of interview were to ask for referrals, like local missionaries wouldn't. One lady quit church so we sent fellowship notice like missionaries wouldn't,t know what's going on.

But we're to beg for referrals work, neighbor, carpool, kids friends, like they won,t tell missionaries that taught them. On mission got referral like that but guy psychopath should not of been baptized. Police came to apartment after domestic dispute. He married girl that bought him to church in mind when he moved in. Guess called president but if on parole or probation not to get baptized. Girl said after crazy spell that is not the man. Don,t think there bf,s really abusive, but we did not go to referral there. Wml said he had mean look at baptism. That was before I got there.

But doing interviews Saturday before we left the fold this missionary god I have the radiator referral been Catholic all his life now ready to change. Name of mp of mine, three of us were gong to field next week so
Mtc comp hand delivered referral. Saying he was Cathie all his life. We thinking he was visiting recent convert. My comp a few months later told me about missionaries trying to impersonate mp with referral see what missionaries do. Knowing mp wouldn't,t of done that. But mtc missinaries and new ones can be gullible.
