  • Do lds leaders speak of coming good and gloom, it was so much better when I was a ki

Several evangelicals and commentators lament bout the irreversible moral decline of America and things are so much worse now than when they were under. How bad can it get. I don,t hear that from LDS leaders that much though. They are optimistic.

Thing is morl decay has been talked bout for centuries if not millenia, what is happening now would not of happened when I was younger. Kids were nicer my generation. Unheard of to call Adult first nMe. children not to apeK unless spoken too. Hardly any crime in my day kids more polit.

People have been sYing that at for a long time, if y look will find things like that. However moral decay it is getting so much worse now is not talked much about in the LDS church. A lot of it is selective memory since it is natural to lament lost times while talking about good old days. Were our grandparents generations void of prisons? Since Cain and Abel there has been good and evil in the world not getting progressively worse.

If you review the Proclamation on the Family, it contains a clear warning that efforts to erode the family will bring about prophesied judgements against the nation.

I recall conference talks from many years ago warning that a continued decline will invite tribulation, warning people to stay out of unnecessary debt, and warning people to acquire a year's supply of whatever they might need. But the talks lately have been about turning away from sin, building faith, and things like that. I know a lot of people who believe that the talks have gone from warnings to prepare to warnings to become close to the Holy Ghost because those judgements are imminent and only through obedience can we avoid the worst of it.

things are horrible today. i would much rather live in the political, economic, social, medical, and technological climate of 150 years ago. Those were the days.
      Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I agree. The moral decline in this country is shocking. Next thing you know people will be so groundless that they will deny people their rights based upon their skin color or something insane like that.
