  • How are people that have traded there genealogy back to Adam and Eve able to do templ

Ple work for any ancestor? There are a few people that claim to have so,e ancestors traced back to Adam and Eve. The earliest I have seen mine was in the early part of 1000, most stop in the 14 and 1500's. In some oriental countries they may have had it traced family history back to a Millennial or two before Christ. However few people can trace European ancestors before the time of Columbus.

So since one of the temple recommend questions is are you honest in all your dealings, how can someone with there genealogy traced that far back do the work for any ancestor since either only liars or those that believe a lie have there genealogy traced that far back?

Another interesting story I believe I brought it up here before. Someone in church gives a talk. Sits there and says nothing. Than, says I know I made you wait bit they heave been waiting a long time to have there work done. Not everyone will accept the gospel anymore than they will here. And someone worthy will not be denied the just rewards simply because they did not get there work done on time.

In Paul,s day sme work was done for the dead. Dn,t know h authentic the reads were. However the bulk of work will be done in millennium as we don,t have records more than a few centuries back. I would bet that less than 1 percent of the work will be done for the dead before the millennium.

I'm not surprised that people make these kinds of claims (I remember a very enthusiastic Family History class instructor telling us that whenever a new General Authority is called, they are presented with their genealogy all the way back to Adam). All you have to do is link into some royal line that has created its own fictitious link to the Bible in one way or another and you're off to the races.

Not to brag or anything, but my line goes all the way back to mitochondrial Eve. Not sure how many people on this board can say that.

I've got a line that goes back to Adam. I'm related to Jacob Hamblin and have a family tree that goes back through Charlemagne, Noah and then Adam. I'm 100% sure that it's 100% historically accurate

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The only genealogy I've done was for the merit badge. I think I had to go back as far as my great grandparents? That was enough for me. Add this to the list of things that don't interest me much, along with going to a special meeting on Sunday night to find out how the ward boundaries have been divided.

What if you don't really believe Adam was a real person?

It means that you're descended from a metaphor. Now how do you feel about yourself?

You don't believe that you can trace your genealogy all the way back to:
              F: Adam
              M: rib

With the amount of nepotism that goes into calling general authorities, seems like they could churn out that info pretty quick.
